How to Apply for a Scholarship: 

Financial Aid & Payment Plans

Professional Youth Theatre of Michigan (PYTMI) offers scholarships to families with demonstrated financial need who would otherwise be unable to participate in our programs or productions. Eligibility is based on the HUD Income Guidelines for Washtenaw County. Scholarships are awarded on a sliding scale, covering 20%–70% of tuition, with most families required to contribute at least 30% of the cost. Due to budget constraints, only one scholarship per family per season (Sept–Aug) is granted.

Payment Plans

Flexible payment plans are available to all families, regardless of financial need. You can divide your tuition into two or three installments—no application required. To set up a plan, email megan@pytmi.com.

Scholarship Application Process

• A deposit of $25 per class or $100 per full-day camp per student is required to secure a spot while financial aid is under review. This deposit is refundable only if the awarded aid is insufficient for participation.

• Scholarship decisions are typically communicated within one week of application submission (or two weeks for summer camp).

• Unless other arrangements are made, any remaining balance must be paid in full by the last day of class or the first day of camp.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, subject to available funds.
