(By time slots)
📍 PYTMI Studio – 328 Harriet St., Ypsilanti
Students in grades K–12 are invited to audition for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.!
🧜♀️ All actors who audition will be considered for casting based on the number of auditions received.
Prepare 30–60 seconds of a MUSICAL THEATRE song that shows off your voice, character type and storytelling ability.
Please bring a backing track or YouTube link. You can play your music on your device...or we can play it for you!! It's more important for you to hear the music and for us to hear YOU so however that is easiest for you.
You will also be asked to bring or upload a headshot and résumé (if you have one) to your audition form on the day of auditions. A current photo is perfectly fine! Include any previous performance experience if applicable.
If you have any conflicts with the rehearsal schedule, please bring those dates with you to auditions. Conflicts will influence our casting only of it is consistent and excessive. We need to work with everyone (especially the leads) as often as possible! Tech week and performance conflicts will not be accepted.
✨ This production will feature TWO casts! We are excited to offer a K–5 cast and a 6–12 cast so performers can rehearse and shine alongside peers in their age group.
Each performer must sign up for a time slot between 5:30–8:30 PM on either March 25 or 26.
Auditions will be held in pairs (2 people per time slot).
Actors will:
• Perform their prepared song
• Read sides from the script with their time slot partner
Audition sides can be prepared ahead of time HERE!
Sides will be read based on characters actors are auditioning for.
**Callbacks may take place Friday March 27th 6-8pm if needed! Actors who are called back will be informed of what to prepare. Not getting a callback does NOT mean you are not cast. We may need to see more from certain actors and callbacks will be that time for us to make final decisions.
Rehearsals will be held at the PYTMI Studio (328 Harriet St., Ypsilanti):
Tuesdays & Thursday: 6:00–8:00 PM
Sundays: 5:00–8:00 PM
Actors should be available for ALL rehearsal days and times to fully participate!
Rehearsal schedules will be based on who is needed when and actors will be called to rehearsal when their scenes/songs are rehearsed. We expect everyone to attend all rehearsals they are needed for. Starting in May all actors will be called to every rehearsal and attendance is essential!
🎭 May 22-24
&
May 29-31
Actors will be cast in one cast and perform (4 shows) in one weekend. You will be able to tell us which weekend(s) you can perform in on your audition form the day of your audition. We will try our best to accommodate all requests!
The cost to participate is $300 per actor.
✨ Scholarships are always available — we believe theatre should be accessible to every child!
